Roof Repairs in Sidcup, Bexley & Kent

From a single slipped tile to a chimney letting water in during a downpour, R&W Roofing Services fix roofing problems properly the first time. We diagnose the real cause, explain what we find, and carry out a lasting repair rather than a quick patch.

Reliable roof repair services

Most roof leaks come from a small number of weak points: cracked or slipped tiles, failed lead flashings around chimneys and abutments, perished mortar on ridges and verges, blocked valleys and worn felt at the eaves. Our job is to find which one is causing your problem, not just the spot where water is showing inside.

We repair tiled, slate and flat roofs across Sidcup, the London Borough of Bexley, Greenwich and the surrounding parts of Kent and South East London. Where a roof is genuinely at the end of its life we will tell you honestly, but we will never push you towards a new roof when a repair will do.

Emergency roof repairs

When water is coming in you need someone who turns up. Our Charlton chimney re-flash was a same-week emergency call-out after heavy rain, finished in new code 4 lead so the customer never has to think about it again. If you have an active leak, call us on the number below and we will get to you as quickly as we can and make the roof watertight.

Common problems

Problems our roof repairs service solves

  • Leaking roof

Damp patches on ceilings, dripping in the loft or water running down a chimney breast after rain.

  • Slipped, cracked or missing tiles

Often caused by high winds, failed nails or old tiles that have become brittle.

  • Failed lead flashings

Lead that has split, lifted or been replaced with sealant is the most common cause of chimney leaks.

  • Storm damage

Ridge tiles blown off, lifted felt or debris damage after bad weather.

  • Crumbling ridge and verge mortar

Old mortar bedding fails and lets tiles move and water in. We can re-bed or convert to a dry-fix system.

  • Blocked or damaged valleys

Leaves and moss build up in valleys and force water under the tiles.

FAQs

Roof Repairs FAQs

How do I know if my roof needs repairing?
Look for damp patches on ceilings, daylight visible in the loft, tiles on the ground or in the gutter, moss build-up, and lead flashings that look lifted or cracked. If you are unsure, we can inspect the roof and tell you what, if anything, needs doing.
Can you repair a leaking roof?
Yes. Finding the source of a leak is the important part — water often travels a long way inside the roof before it shows. We trace it, fix the cause and check the surrounding area so it does not simply move somewhere else.
Do you carry out emergency roof repairs?
We do. Contact us on 07498 310928 and describe the problem; we will let you know how quickly we can attend and make the roof watertight.
Will a repair match my existing roof?
We source tiles, slates and ridge pieces to match the existing roof as closely as possible. On older roofs a perfect colour match is not always available, but a good repair should be hard to spot from the ground.
Is it worth repairing an old roof?
Often yes. If the structure and most of the covering are sound, a targeted repair can add years of life. If we find widespread problems we will show you photographs and explain your options for a re-roof so you can decide.
